“Today, media terrorism is regarded as a big threat and common danger to the Islamic world countries. Therefore, the Islamic nations despite differences of views should stand together not to allow enemies to implement their evil plans through creating discord among Muslims," the minister said during a meeting with his Lebanese counterpart Mohammad Wissam El-Mortada in Tehran.
Ismaili also said that Iran is and has been facing media warfare, with those involved trying to spread lies and distort facts to weaken the Iranian people’s spirits.
The Lebanese culture minister, on his part, said that Iran and Lebanon are facing common challenges, and therefore, they need to expand cooperation in all fields.
He said that impacts of media terrorism is worse than military terrorism, proposing that a joint media committee is formed so that countries can use each other's experiences.
The two ministers discussed ways to expand cultural relations between Tehran and Beirut as well.
