– Iran Offers Forming Int'l Group to End Ukraine War
Iran's ambassador and permanent representative to the United Nations (UN) expressed his country's readiness to establish a group of cross-regional countries to help end the conflict in Ukraine which marked its first anniversary on Friday. He stressed that given the agreements reached with the Chinese side during his visit, the trip could be perceived as a turning point in expanding ties and cooperation with China in the political, economic, scientific and technological areas.
– Opening a new chapter in Lake Urmia’s life
On Friday morning, Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi arrived in the city of Urmia, the provincial capital of West Azarbaijan, and inaugurated a major environmental project that transfers water to Lake Urmia from Kani Sib Dam in Naqadeh.
– Another chance to resuscitate JCPOA
A delegation from the International Atomic Energy Agency is expected to visit Iran in the coming days as a group of IAEA inspectors have already traveled to the country to probe claims about 84% uranium enrichment on Iranian sites, which was first reported by Bloomberg. Iran has emphasized that it has not enriched uranium above 60% purity. A final IAEA report will determine whether the claim is unfounded or valid.

– Fajr Festival Hosts Ensemble From St. Petersburg
The 38th Fajr Music Festival has hosted VivaMuse Ensemble from St. Petersburg. The Russian troupe performed at Tehran’s Vahdat Hall during the festival, iFilm reported.
In the first part of its concert, the ensemble featuring Evgeniya Klevtsova and Nataliya Grinuk on violin, Alexei Andreev on viola, Natalia Neskoromnaya on cello and Ilya Chirskov on piano.
The group gave a performance of Italian composer Arcangelo Corelli’s Concerto Grosso.
– Iran Marks National Day of Nasir ad-Din Tusi
Friday marked the National Commemoration Day of the outstanding Iranian philosopher, scientist, and mathematician Nasir ad-Din Tusi. Tusi was born in Tus in 1201 and died in Baghdad in 1274. Very little is known about his childhood and early education, apart from what he writes in his autobiography, Contemplation, and Action (Sayr wa suluk).
As a young boy, Nasir ad-Din was encouraged by his father to study all “the branches of knowledge and to listen to the opinions of the followers of various sects and doctrines”; as such, Tusi travelled widely to study with teachers of his choice.
Tusi studied mathematics with Kamal al-Diin Hasib about whom we have no authentic knowledge. In Nishabur he met Farid al-Din ‘Attar, the legendary Sufi master who was later killed at the hand of Mongol invaders, and attended the lectures of Qutb ud-Din Misri and Farid ad-Din Damad. In Mawsil he studied mathematics and astronomy with Kamal ad-Din Yunus (d. 1242).
– Iran Eyes $2bn Worth of Dairy Exports to China
Iran’s Agriculture Minister Javad Sadatinejad has said that the country expects to earn some $2 billion from exports of dairy products to China in the next two years as part of recent bilateral agreements that will lead to an increase in Iranian agrifood exports to the east Asian country.
Sadatinejad said that the country had secured an agreement with China under which Iranian dairy companies can launch exports to the country for the first time.
