Amirabdollahian made the remarks in a meeting with visiting members of Niger-Iran parliamentary friendship group late on Tuesday.
He emphasized Iran’s plans to boost relations with African countries and said that the visit by parliamentary delegations from Africa can pave the way for such an expansion in ties.
The top Iranian diplomat said that Iran and Niger have a major capacity to expand their ties, adding that the two countries should hold joint economic meetings under an intergovernmental committee initiative.
Head of the parliamentary delegation from Niger, for his part, underlined his country’s willingness to develop relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Amadou expressed hope that the two countries can expand their ties relying on contribution by members of the Iranian parliament.
