Sasan Shahveysi spoke of a strategic transformation in Iran’s viewpoint, which he said can create constructive interaction with the aim of producing power and wealth.
If we accept interactive approach in international relations, we see that economy plays a key role in interactions, he said, adding that Iran can change paradigms to have more share in international exchanges.
The players in the new world order are shifting from the United States and Europe or from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific Ocean, he noted.
China, India and Iran are playing more active and balanced roles in the field of producing power especially in economy, the expert said. But, he added, it is necessary not to be limited to just playing roles, and investors and tradesmen should also shoulder responsibilities.
Shahveysi also said that visits by heads of states is a sort of active diplomacy, which can create new capacities and boost developments.
The shift of approach has resulted in significant achievements such as Iran’s official membership in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the presence in BRICS and the improvement of ties with Eurasian states in different fields from science and technology to oil and gas as well as transit corridors to trade at international level, the analyst said.
The Belt and Road Initiative, which is being pursued by China, is expected to pave ground for the increase of exchanges among 68 countries, he said, noting that Iran’s contribution to the project can pave the way for attracting investors to invest in developing infrastructure as well as improving energy sector.
In a bid to develop tourism, trade and the presence in regional markets, Iran can turn transit corridors, ports and docks into zones to procure Chinese products, he noted.
According to the expert, President Raisi’s trip to Beijing can pave the way for increasing production and create power in different arenas, while maintaining sovereignty of the Islamic Republic.
