Ambassador meets Italy Parliament Foreign Relations Commission chief

Roma, IRNA – Iran ambassador to Italy met and conferred with head of Italian Parliament's Foreign Relations Commission and his deputy, proposing a parliamentary delegation to visit Iran to pave path for constructive dialogue and interactions.

Ambassador Mohammad-Reza Sabouri made the proposal in his Tuesday afternoon meeting with the Head of Italian Parliament's Foreign Relations Commission Giulio Tremonti and his deputy Lia Quartapelle.

The latest status of bilateral ties, with focus on parliamentary cooperation and regional and international developments were the main topics of the bilateral discussion.

The Iranian diplomat in Rome said that the Parliaments are symbols of democracy in different countries.

Ambassador Sabouri also expressed hope that an Italian parliamentary delegation comprised of representatives from different political fractions, and especially the members of Iran-Italy Parliamentary Group will visit Iran to focus on commonalties between the two nations, and pave the path for bilateral constructive negotiations.
