Pres. Raisi: Iran-China comprehensive strategic partnership symbol of will to develop ties

Tehran, IRNA - Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi in a meeting with China’s Prime Minister Li Keqiang on Tuesday described Iran-China's comprehensive strategic partnership as a symbol of the will of the two countries to develop relations.

President Raisi met and held talks with Li Keqiang in Beijing, China.

Referring to the deep-rooted and valuable cooperation between Iran and China, President Raisi emphasized the important agreements between the two countries in various economic fields and called for bolstering ties between Iran and China.

Acknowledging the importance of multilateralism as a common axis in the international positions of the two states, he stressed the significance of strengthening Iran-China cooperation in international and regional organizations.

Li Keqiang, for his part, referred to the historical ties between the two states and added that constructive negotiations are underway between the two countries to develop ties on different topics.

Referring to the pivotal role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region, he stressed the need for cooperation between the two countries to develop security to secure the interests of the two states.

President Raisi arrived at Beijing International Airport Tuesday morning local time and was welcomed by China's Minister of Culture and Tourism Hu Heping.

The Iranian president leads a high-ranking economic and political delegation on his trip to China.

This is the first state visit by a president of the Islamic Republic of Iran to China in 20 years.
