Mostafa Jamali, the CEO of the Blood Transfusion Organization, made the remarks on Tuesday, noting that Iranians’ blood donation rate accounts to 25 per a thousand people, which is twice as much as the regional blood donations.
Addressing the first meeting of the blood transfusion organization of G5 countries and the 25th meeting of senior healthcare experts of G5 countries, he noted that the conference’s main objective is to pave the way for getting acquainted with the capacities of each member state as well as the expression of the existing problems in order to remove obstacles and improve the capabilities of the World Health Organization.
The Iranian official also noted that cultural, historical, religious, and ethnic commonalities among the member states create proper ground to reach the goal, which should be considered as an important factor in the future programming of the G5 secretariat.
According to the CEO, Iran’s Blood Transfusion Organization was established around 50 years ago and has succeeded in making a significant progress in its field of work, including the promotion of hundred-percent voluntary blood donation since 2007.
