The president made the remarks while speaking to reporters at Tehran’s International Mehrabad Airport prior to departing for Beijing.
President Raisi said that pursuing the implementation of a landmark 25-year cooperation agreement between the two countries will be one of the main agendas of the trip.
Noting that Iran and China have wide connections, he said that there are huge potentials for bilateral cooperation that have yet to be unleashed.
Iran and China, as two independent countries, share interests in the region and globally and have to boost their connections, the president said, adding that to this end, both countries need to develop an accurate knowledge of their capacities, especially for trade and economic exchanges.
He said that Iran and China have connections in different economic, energy, financial and monetary areas.
Urging the necessity to follow up these relations, the president said that “our ministers will sign agreements in this trip.”
Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi heading a high-ranking politico-economic delegation left Tehran for Beijing on Monday evening.
President Raisi’s three-day tour is upon the official invitation of his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping.
