The ceremony, jointly organized by the cultural section of the Iranian Embassy in Pakistan and The Institute of Strategic Studies Islamabad, was attended by diplomats, political elites and journalists.
Iranian Ambassador to Islamabad Mohammad Ali Hosseini addressed the gathering, praising political, cultural and economic relations between Iran and Pakistan as two Muslim, friendly and neighboring countries.
He said that the 1979 victory of Iran’s Islamic Revolution brought growth for the country which has developed well in all fields despite plots by its enemies and “cruel measures such as sanctions and economic terrorism.”
The Iranian diplomat added that his country is ready to use its strong capacities to boost relations with “friendly and allied countries, especially neighboring states and at the top of them Pakistan.”
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran Rahim Hayat Qureshi addressed the ceremony virtually. He said that relations between the two countries are rooted in “history, culture and social proximities”, adding that Pakistan is determined to further boost its ties with Iran, despite international restrictions.
On the sidelines of the ceremony, an exhibition showcasing pictures of Iran’s tourism attractions and handicraftsو as well as images related to the country’s Ten-Day Dawn celebration was held.
