--Iran kicks off ceremonies to mark 44th Islamic Revolution anniversary

Iran kicked off Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) celebrations marking the 44th anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, which put an end to the ruling of the US-backed Pahlavi regime in the country in 1979. The annual nationwide celebrations started all over Iran on Wednesday, coinciding with the date of the homecoming of the late founder of the Islamic Republic, Imam Khomeini, after several years of living in exile.

-- Clues on Isfahan Foiled Drone Attack

Sources said on Wednesday anti-Iran terrorists operating in Iraq’s semi-autonomous Kurdistan region were involved in a recent drone strike on a military workshop in the central Iranian city of Isfahan. The terrorists ordered by a foreign intelligence service, smuggled the constituent parts of a micro aerial vehicle and explosive materials from the Kurdistan region into Iran through far-flung and arduous routes, and handed them over to a liaison in a border city in the northwestern part of the country.

-- Toghrol Tower considered for UNESCO’s World Heritage List

Toghrol Tower in Shahr-e Rey, Tehran Province, is expected to join the list of Iranian shrine towers which are nominated for the collective registration on UNESCO’S World Heritage List, said the director of Rey National Heritage Site. Speaking in an exclusive interview with Iran Daily, Abdulmehdi Hemmatpour said that Toghrol Tower was registered on Iran’s National Heritage List in 1931.

-- Iran FM Meets Leaders on Africa Tour

Foreign Minister Hussein Amir-Abdollahian said Wednesday Tehran supports any initiative that could lead to the improvement of security and stability in the African continent. The top Iranian diplomat traveled to the Mauritanian capital of Nouakchott on Tuesday at the head of a diplomatic delegation, where he held talks on bilateral and international issues with top Mauritanian officials, including his counterpart Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, and President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani.

-- Official: Grossi’s Visit Should Have Specific Objective

The head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran said Wednesday any potential visit by the head of the UN nuclear agency to the country needs to have a specific objective. “This trip needs preparations and content and the aims and schedule of this trip should be determined,” Muhammad Eslami said.

Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji has said the country’s incomes from the sales of oil, natural gas, gas condensate, and petroleum products in the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 21, 2022-January 20, 2023) increased by 40 percent compared to the same period last year.
