Addressing a Tuesday gathering in the Serbian capital Belgrade entitled “Revolutions that changed the world”, on Tuesday, Bobana M. Andjelkovic said that the Islamic Revolution achieved its stated goals of bringing Islam back to the society and inspiring other movements in the Muslim world.
The journalist said that Iran's Islamic Revolution has also fulfilled the ideals set by its late founder Imam Khomeini which was to boost awareness among Muslims around the world.
During her speech, Andjelkovic referred to the origins of Iran's Revolution and the international conditions before it as well as the characteristics and consequences of the revolution. She also discussed the main incidents that happened during the authoritarian rule of the Pahlavi Dynasty from 1925 to 1978, including those before and during the Second World War.
The analyst also discussed international conditions in the years before Iran's 1979 revolution, including the Cold War, the US military campaign in Vietnam, as well as various developments in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.
Andjelkovic quoted French Muslim philosopher Roger Garaudy who once described Iran's revolution as a unique phenomenon in the history of the world which not only restored spirituality to the human life but also offered a comprehensive and multi-dimensional system of thinking on political, economic, social and cultural issues.
