An earthquake measuring 5.9 on the Richter scale jolted the city of Khoy, West Azarbaijan Province in northwest Iran.
The quake happened on Saturday at 9:44 pm local time, and at a depth of 7 km, according to the Iranian Seismological Center in Tehran.
Estimates by the Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution (HFIR) say that at least 3,050 houses were damaged in a recent earthquake that hit the northwestern Iranian city of Khoy and its surrounding villages.
Three people were killed and some 1,167 were injured in the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that was also felt in parts of neighboring Turkiye.
