HFIR’s local head in Iran’s West Azarbaijan Province Jafar Barzegar told IRNA on Tuesday that the government body had inspected a total of 3,500 housing units after the quake on January 28.
Barzegar said some houses in Khoy had been destroyed up to 80% during the relatively powerful earthquake that inflicted losses on at least 70 villages in Khoy country.
Three people were killed and some 1,167 were injured in the 5.9 magnitude earthquake that was also felt in parts of the neighboring Turkey.
