Military cooperation between Tehran and Damascus is about to enter a new phase

Tehran, IRNA – A member of the Syrian Parliament, Mohannad Al-Haj Ali, termed the recent visit by Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas to Tehran as important and considered it in line with the coordination of the two sides to enter a new phase of military cooperation against aggression of the Zionist regime.

According to Alahednews website, the recent visit by Syrian Defense Minister Ali Mahmoud Abbas to Tehran has sparked many speculations about the plans of Iran and Syria to mobilize their joint military capabilities against any possible aggression.

Accordingly, this visit was dedicated to the field developments in Syria, Palestine and all member countries of the axis of resistance.

A member of the Syrian Parliament, Mohannad Al-Haj Ali in an interview with Alahednews, emphasized that the relations between Tehran and Damascus are historical and strategic and have deepened in the shadow of the unity and solidarity of the two countries to overcome the challenges.

Al-Haj Ali in his interview had said that the biggest challenges are military challenges, and that is why  the joint defense treaty between the two countries was implemented in 2011, and the Islamic Republic of Iran stood by the Syrian army with weapons and equipment in confronting the terrorist war against the Syrian nation."

This member of the Syrian Parliament added in the interview that "following the victories of the Syrian army and its allies against US projects, the relations between Tehran and Damascus are taking on other dimensions today.

He has added in the interview that now Iran is involved in the development of the Syrian army and the restoration and revival of the infrastructure and Its capabilities, as well as the development of these capabilities and equipping it with the latest missile systems, (surface-to-surface) missiles and Iranian air defense systems are shared, and this causes anger.

This member of the Syrian Parliament has added in the interview that, Yosef "Yossi" Meir Cohen the former Director of Mossad, had said that the Syrian army is the only regular army that has direct borders with the Zionist regime and has armored and missile brigades and special forces, and is considered a direct threat to the security of this regime.
