Reacting to the rumors, Mohammad Jamshidi wrote on his website, "It is the Islamic Republic of Iran government's policy to construct the North-South Corridor both for transit and for energy transfer objectives."
He added that in recent interactions, especially in a phone talk between President Ebrahim Raisi and his Russian counterpart President Vladimir Putin, we pursued the implementation of that macro-scale project.
"If they had brought up the issue of water borderline, they would have heard the same thing that we said face-to-face with Putin: Securing Iran's interests is only possible by drawing the water borderline."
