That Sweden once again desecrated the holy book of Quran did hurt the hearts of all Muslims around the world, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf said at the Majlis open session in Tehran this morning.
In his remarks, the speaker pointed to parliamentary relations between Tehran and Moscow, saying that the Majlis hosted a Russian delegation on Monday (January 23) as cooperation with Russia is important due to neighborliness in the Caspian Sea and commonalities in the international and regional areas.
Parliaments of Iran and Russia should make effort to hold regular meetings, Qalibaf said adding that the two should focus on development of cooperation.
The Monday Tehran-Moscow parliamentary commission meeting prioritized promotion of ties in the areas of oil, gas, investment, transportation and agriculture.
The two also underlined the importance of removing obstacles to issuing visas, Qalibaf noted.
He went on to say that exchange of rial and ruble was among other issues the two parliamentary delegations discussed in Tehran.
The Islamic Republic of Iran and the Federation of Russia have witnessed growing relations during the past year.
At the head of a delegation, the Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin arrived in the Iranian capital on Sunday to take a two-day official visit.
