What is approved in the European Parliament is mainly a reflection of the issues that are raised by a part of the Parliament and finally pursued through lobbies inside and the pressures of certain people outside the Parliament.
Contrary to some claims, what is approved in the EP does not necessarily reflect the concerns and public opinion of Europe, and in many cases, they are just media waves that are formed at a certain point in time and abate soon.
However, in the rise and fall of these waves, some things may be approved by the EP, which mainly depends on the outside rather than the inside of the parliament.
Regarding the resolution of the European Parliament calling on the EU to designate the IRGC a terrorist group, it is clearly seen that the lobby and pressure of the hostile anti-Iran terrorist groups, which have been sheltered in the arms of the Europeans for decades, have played an important role in provoking these feelings and forming the wave that led to this resolution.
The issue obviously questions the validity of the resolution, proving that it should not be considered a full reflection of the public opinion of Europeans.
Due to the decades-long grudge that they hold against the IRGC and its success in crushing anti-Iranian and separatist groups, they put all their time and energy into riding the wave of developments in recent months in Iran, following the death of Mahsa Amini, to achieve their lifelong dream.
Thus, the fact that this small group of expatriate Iranians considers itself the winner of this resolution is enough to question the document.
As mentioned before, this resolution approved by the EP is not binding and it must go through some steps within the European structures.
Iranian officials are expected to provide a proper answer to the move and give the necessary warnings to the authorities of the European Union so that they will not enter the dangerous game that some have started by approving the resolution of the European Parliament.
If the European Union decides to activate this suicide belt that has been fastened around its waist, it will most definitely be injured before anybody else. This depends on the rationality and wisdom of the European Union authorities.
If the EU imagines that by modeling itself after the US and blacklisting the IRGC, it can pressure Iran to give in to the West's excessive demands, it is definitely woolgathering and making a dangerous miscalculation.
