Iran, Pakistan ink MoU on facilitating bilateral trade

Tehran, IRNA – Iran, and Pakistan signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Monday to give a boost to bilateral trade between the two neighboring countries.

The MoU was signed by Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO) Alireza Peimanpak and the head of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP).

The two sides agreed on the document on the sidelines of Iran’s Exclusive Exhibition in Karachi.  

Speaking during the signing ceremony, the TPO chief said that today’s gathering was indicative of the resolve on both Iran and Pakistan to remove the obstacles of the way of bilateral trade and prepare the ground for the businesspersons of both sides to bolster cooperation.

The head of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), for his part, said that the MoU signed today is regarded as a major step to enhance bilateral trade to a target annual $5 billion.
