-- Persian Gulf water to be supplied to three provinces in central Iran
Iran launched a major project to transfer desalinated water from the Persian Gulf to three provinces in its arid central regions.
The project was launched on Thursday during a visit by Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi of the province of Yazd, which along with Isfahan and Kerman would be the three provinces to receive the supply of water from desalination plants in Sirik, located on the easternmost mouth of the Persian Gulf.
-- Nakhjir Cave in Markazi Province, highly attractive to tourists
Chaal-Nakhjir Cave, also known as Nakhjir Cave, is one of the amazing attractions of Markazi Province, which is located between Naraq and Delijan on the hillside of Takht Kuh.
Due to the cave’s location in the mountain range, it is easy to access. After visiting Kashan, an ancient city in the central province of Isfahan, you can reach the cave by traveling approximately 70 kilometers to the west.
-- Taremi named in IFFHS’s AFC Team 2022
Iranian striker Mehdi Taremi was picked by the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) in the Men’s AFC Team of 2022. Porto frontman has been in flying form for the Portuguese giant this season, scoring 18 goals – including five in the Champions League – in 25 matches across all competitions.
The Iranian also had 26 goals and 17 assists in 48 outings to steer Porto a domestic league and cup double last season.

-- Iranian Authors Awarded at Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Awards
Iran’s 15th edition of Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Awards closing ceremony was held on Jan. 14, 2023, with announcing the winners.
The Jalal Al-e Ahmad Literary Award is an Iranian literary award presented annually since 2008. Every year, an award is given to the best Iranian authors on the birth anniversary of the renowned Persian writer Jalal Al-e Ahmad.
Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili, some literary figures, activists, and the winners, attended the ceremony.
-- Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant to Build New PVC Unit
The head of the PVC complex of Bandar Imam Petrochemical Company Saeed Baghadam has announced that the beginning of studies for the construction of a new PVC unit in the complex.
Baghadam expressed his satisfaction with the direct conversation with customers at a specialized meeting of the petrochemical industry and the value chain of the leather and footwear industry held on the sidelines of the 9th Ampex Exhibition, saying over 150 years have passed since the first PVC war processed in the world; an item which has reached 55 million ton production today globally of which 60% is consumed in Asia and the Oceanic.
-- Hormozgan Exports Over 46,000 Tons of Aquatic Products
The caretaker of the aquatic department of Hormozgan province Sasan Sadeghi has said that over 46,000 tons of aquatic products have been exported from Hormozgan province in southern Iran.
Sadeghi said that the exported amount of aquatic products was worth over $76 million in the first nine months of the Iranian year.He went on to say that Persian Gulf states, Russia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, and China are the main export destination in this regard.
Hormozgan province ranked first in exporting aquatic products in terms of tonnage last year, he further noted. Earlier, the Iranian Minister of Agriculture said that the export of aquatics products has seen a 68 percent surge in the first seven months.

-- Iranian oil exports rise to record high despite western pressures: report
– Iran’s oil exports have reached new highs in the last two months of 2022 and are making a strong start to 2023 despite U.S. sanctions, Reuters reported on Sunday citing ship tracking companies.
As reported, the Islamic Republic’s oil exports have risen mostly due to the higher shipments to China and Venezuela. Energy consultant SVB International said Iran's crude exports in December averaged 1.137 million barrels per day, up 42,000 bpd from November and the highest 2022 figure SVB has reported based on estimates given earlier.
-- Jameh Mosque of Ushturjan; a living museum of lavish decorations
Survived in excellent condition, the Jameh Mosque of Ushturjan is an amazing reminiscent of Il-khanid architecture in a town of the same name in Isfahan province. The mosque was built with a mud brick core and fired brick siding. It was commissioned by an Il-Khanid administrator from Ushturjan and dates to 715 AH (1315-1316 CE) according to two different inscriptions.
The decoration is more significant than the main building, which consists of a small courtyard with a dome chamber in front of a vaulted iwan on one side and three arcade prayer halls on the other.
