--Russian company says planning tram production with Iran
Iranian and Russian companies plan to cooperate on tram production, the chief executive of Russia’s rail vehicle producer UKCP has said.
“Two months ago, we were visited by Iranian colleagues; they talked to all producers and came back to us. They want us to produce the bogies, because we do it the best. Later, the Iranian side wrote that they have high interest in cooperation, because their tram and railroad enterprises are combined,” Romon Novikov told TASS news agency.
-- Iran to roll out 400 new 5G sites by early February: Minister
– Iran will expand the deployment of fifth-generation (5G) mobile internet services by rolling out 400 new sites in the country by early February, according to Iranian ICT Minister Issa Zarepour.
Zarepour said that the launch of new 5G sites will be in line with Iranian government’s efforts to cope with growing demand in the country for higher speeds of internet.

Iran’s parliament speaker has termed the assassination of top anti-terror commander General Qassem Soleimani and his associates in a U.S. airstrike in the Iraqi capital Baghdad three years ago as a clear example of “state terrorism”.

-- IRGC Chief: Recent Riots Were a ‘World War’
The chief commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) said Monday the recent foreign-backed riots in Iran were a “world war,” but Iranian youths dealt a mortal blow to Western-hatched plots to destabilize the country.
“In a sedition and world war, our enemies, in the past few months, wanted to close schools, universities and economic centers and create chaos in the country, but Iran’s youths, women and girls did not go along with them and defeated their schemes,” Major General Hussein Salami said, referring to the nationwide riots that erupted in Iran in mid-September last year.
-- Ilam Gas Refinery Uses Domestic Molecular Sieve, Catalyst
The CEO of Ilam Gas Refining Company Ruhollah Nooryan has said the plant uses domestically manufactured molecular sieves and catalysts, which European companies previously supplied, to support knowledge-based companies and facilitate the booming Iranian goods market.
Nooryan said that the refinery has taken good steps in line with the policies of self-sufficiency, and reducing and eliminating dependence on foreign countries, by identifying capable knowledge-based companies, and stated: “Supporting and accompanying knowledge-based companies will speed up the improvement of domestic business and cut off the dependence on buying foreign goods.”

-- New iron ore reserves discovered in central Iran
– Director-general of planning at Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration of Iran (GSI) has announced the discovery of new iron ore reserves in central Iran, IRIB reported.
“Recently, in parts of central Iran, including the provinces of Isfahan, Yazd, Kerman, and Semnan, preliminary exploration operations have been carried out and good iron ore reserves have been discovered,” Reza Jadidi said.
-- Tarikhaneh marks 100 years on national heritage list
On Sunday, Tarikhaneh, one of the oldest standing mosques in Iran, marked the 100th anniversary of its registration on the national list of cultural heritage in a ceremony held at the ancient place of worship in Damghan.
