--Iran FM: French gov’t responsible for magazine’s insulting cartoons

The Iranian foreign minister held the French government responsible for the insulting cartoons published by French magazine Charlie Hebdo against Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
-- Transit across Iran up 8%: Official
The secretary of Transit Development Working Group of the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development Ministry announced that transit across Iran has increased eight percent during the current Iranian year (started March 21, 2022).
Amin Tarfa said on Tuesday that removing internal process obstacles which lead to delay in the transit of cargo is on agenda for his working group.
-- Top commander: U.S. to suffer Soviet Union’s fate
The United States will be doomed to the fate that befell the Soviet Union, as confirmed by their own study centers, said the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) on Thursday.
“The United States will leave the West Asia region in abject humiliation,” Esmaeil Qa’ani added in remarks at a commemoration ceremony in the southeastern province of Kerman.

-- Iran, Qatar Seek Monetary Agreement
Iran and Qatar plan to sign a monetary pact to facilitate bilateral banking ties as chief bankers of the two countries meet in the Qatari capital Doha to discuss increased cooperation between the two top regional lenders.
The Central Bank of Iran (CBI) said in a Thursday statement that its newly-appointed governor Mohammad Reza Farzin had travelled to Qatar in charge of a high-ranking delegation of baking and diplomatic officials to meet senior authorities in the Arab country.
The CBI said Farzin had met with Governor of Qatar Central Bank Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani earlier in the day to discuss plans by Iran and Qatar to sign a key monetary agreement.
-- Ancient Inscription Unearthed in Fars Province
Persepolis World Heritage Site announced on Wednesday that an ancient stone inscription was discovered in Tangeh Bolaghi region, Pasargad city in Fars province.
Persepolis World Heritage Site stated that the inscription dates back about 1,500 years, which dates back to the Sassanid era. It is a dedication letter that informs the construction of a bridge, dam, and a blessing has been made for its creators.
-- Iraqi President Stresses Expansion of Iran Ties
Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid and Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Muhammad Sadeq Al-e Kazem have discussed ways to improve cooperation in various fields.
In a meeting here, the two sides stressed the importance of bolstering constructive cooperation in all sectors to serve the two nations’ interests and make progress given the historical relations between the two neighboring countries.
The Iranian ambassador voiced Tehran’s keenness to continue cooperation with Baghdad in line with the macro interests of the two friendly countries.

-- Tehran, Doha urge developing monetary, banking cooperation
The newly appointed Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Mohammad-Reza Farzin in a meeting with his Qatari counterpart on Thursday stressed developing monetary and banking cooperation between the two countries.
Farzin met and held talks with Sheikh Bandar bin Mohammed bin Saoud Al-Thani in Doha, Qatar. In the meeting, Farzin called for strengthening mutual ties and developing monetary and banking cooperation with the Arab neighbor.
-- Tehran, Minsk to deepen cooperation in water management
Iran and Belarus discussed ways to expand technological cooperation in the field of water management.
In a meeting between Dmitry Koltsov, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Belarus to Iran, and Vahid Haddadi-Asl, the Iranian deputy science minister for international affairs, the two sides also emphasized the need to deepen ties in the oil and gas sector.
-- 200 ancient human skeletons under study at anthropology laboratory
Laboratory research is still underway on some 200 ancient human skeletons, previously discovered from an archaeological site and cemetery in Gilan, the provincial tourism chief said on Tuesday.
“Currently, some 200 ancient human skeletons, which had been unearthed in Liar-Sang-Bon, an archaeological site and cemetery in the Amlash region, are still under investigation at an anthropology laboratory in Gilan province,” Vali Jahani said.
