A senior official at Toorin Tan Company, which has developed the search engine, said on Monday that the application can serve as an appropriate supplement to foreign search engines on the internet.
Mehdi Amaani told Iran’s Vice Presidency for Science and Technology’s website that the Iranian search engine can be used for online and offline searches, adding that users can easily access updates for the program.
The technician said the engine has other features, including options to speed up updates and to provide users with locally-sourced data and news.
He added that the Iranian search engine also enables users to search content on the internet that have been written in various Iranian dialects, including Kurdish and Luri dialects.
Amaani urged government authorities in Iran to support technology companies to help create more jobs in the country.
