Choopan had earlier grabbed Mr. Olympia's bronze medal in 2019 and 2021.
Choopan’s gold medal is the first gold medal for both Iran and Asia.
Derek Lunsford and Nick Walker from the US received silver and bronze medals.
"Hadi Choopan has dethroned two-time Mr. Olympia Big Ramy and won his first Mr. Olympia title at Joe Weider’s 58th annual Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend on Saturday evening, Dec. 18, 2022,” Fitness Volt reported.
It added that Choopan will receive $400,000 as well.
