 China must compensate

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Government's self-restraint and refraining from taking a hasty stance towards the recent visit of the Chinese President to the region, was a symbol of wisdom in the principles of the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran. Iran's objection to compensating for the mistake of ignoring Iran's national interests is an example of honor in these principles. When it comes to territorial integrity, there is no difference between a strategic partner and a long-standing rival.

Less than a week after the Chinese President's strange stance during his visit to Saudi Arabia, Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua visited Tehran to discuss bilateral issues regarding this stance by "Xi Jinping" and give the necessary explanations to the authorities.

Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua who had traveled to Tehran to partake in the "Iran-China comprehensive cooperation program", met with Iranian Vice President Mohammad Mokhber on Tuesday morning.

The Iranian vice president underscored that respecting the territorial integrity of the Islamic Republic is of significant importance in the eyes of the Iranian people and officials.

The first vice president pointed to the historical and ancient ties between the two countries, saying that the Beijing-Tehran relationship is of great importance in the eyes of leaders of both sides and that President Ebrahim Raisi pursues the interactions between the two states seriously.

Mokhber also appreciated Chinese officials’ support for the accession of Iran to international entities such as the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) and the BRICS.

 China must compensate

In his meeting in Tehran, Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua went to Pasteur Street to meet with the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran in continuation of his meetings and travel plans.

Iranian President Ebrahim Raeisi said certain positions adopted by his Chinese counterpart during his recent Riyadh visit have displeased Iran’s people and government, adding Tehran seriously demands Beijing to compensate for its declared stances.

Making the remarks at a meeting with a visiting Chinese delegation, headed by China’s Vice Premier Hu Chunhua, in Tehran on Tuesday, Raeisi pointed to the important agreements previously reached between the two countries, calling on the two sides’ officials to accelerate their implementation, president.ir reported.

He described the Chinese delegation’s presence in Iran as important for the expansion of economic and trade cooperation.

The Chinese vice premier extended President Xi Jinping’s warm greetings to his Iranian counterpart, highlighting China’s determination to develop relations with powerful Iran as his country’s permanent and unchangeable strategy.

He added that China’s determination to improve and deepen bilateral ties with Iran will continue regardless of regional and international developments.

Hu gave the assurance that China has always respected Iran’s national sovereignty and territorial integrity and supports the country’s efforts to safeguard its fundamental interests.

During last week's visit of the President of China to Saudi Arabia, statements were signed that, while interfering in internal affairs, also questioned Iran's territorial integrity.

This action of China provoked many criticisms in Iran, and meantime, some parties in Iran hastily accused the Iranian Government of being silent and not reacting properly in this regard, another accusation to the government was that it looked at China in particular and the East and the Asian continent in general.

These criticisms are at a time when in the foreign policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran and not only Raisi's Government, the first priority is the principles that have ruled it for four decades and saved Iran from foreign colonialism, these are the three principles of " Honor, Wisdom, and Expediency".
