Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Nasser Kanaani declared on Monday that Tehran will welcome a high-ranking Chinese delegation, who will travel to the Islamic country with the aim of developing bilateral relations.
Kanaani also pointed to a recent joint final statement by China and the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council ([P]GCC) on the three islands of Abu Musa, the Greater Tunb and the Lesser Tunb, underscoring that the Islamic Republic will not make any consensus or tolerate over national interest issues such as the territorial integrity.
However, the Chinese and Iranian officials emphasized that the 25-year cooperation is a document, showing the two nations are determined to upgrade all-out and long-term relationships.
The Chinese vice premier is scheduled to be accompanied by a trade delegation, composed of tens of businesses because Beijing is well aware of the unique geographical position of Iran as well as the capacities of the Islamic country in terms of energy, economy, politics, and security.
Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amirabdollahian paid a visit to China nearly a year ago in order to follow up on the implementation of the cooperation program.
The volume of bilateral trade between China and Iran has surpassed 30 billion dollars and it is expected that the digit will increase in the future. The trade exchanges between the two countries stood at 20 billion dollars last year.
Despite sanctions imposed by the US and its Western allies on Iran and China, the two independent countries pursue expansion of strategic ties, while ignoring sanctions and threats by certain states who want to get in the way of Beijing-Tehran deep and historical relationship.
Chen Weiqing, Chinese Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, stressed that the ties between China and Arab countries would not be against a third state.
China has played a key role in standing against anti-Iran measures by the West, including the most recent effort by the Chinese officials who voted against a draft resolution at the UN Human Rights Council at the beginning of the current month.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has reciprocally stood against anti-China propaganda and acts pursued by the Western powers, and backed China's territorial integrity.
