Iraqi officials congratulate Iran national football team

Baqdad, IRNA - Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani and the Leader of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq, Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim, on Friday in separate messages congratulated Iran national football team for winning the second match of World Cup against Wales 2-0.

 Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani  in a congratulatory message wrote on Twitter: "We congratulate the Islamic Republic of Iran for the victory of its national team against the national team of Wales, and we wish them and all friends participating in this event to reach the decisive rounds of the World Cup."

Meanwhile, the Leader of the National Wisdom Movement of Iraq, Seyyed Ammar al-Hakim,  in his message congratulated Iran's national football team for winning the second match of World Cup against Wales 2-0.

This message said we congratulate the Islamic Republic of Iran national team on their winning over the Wales team in the World Cup hosted by Qatar. We hope that other Arab and Islamic teams will also achieve brilliant results in FIFA World Cup 2022.

Iran national football team won the second match of World Cup against Wales 2-0.

The national Iranian men's football team managed to defeat Wales in their second match in Group B of the World Cup in Qatar on Friday.

The two goals of Iran were scored by Rouzbeh Cheshmi at minute 96 and Ramin Rezaeian at 98.

Wales lost their goalkeeper after he received a red card for a fault against attacking Mehdi Taremi.

Iran will next take on the US on Tuesday when a win would almost certainly see them advance to the knockout rounds for the first time in its history.

Iran lost to England 6-2 in its opener but the National Team dominated the match against Wales and won the game to stay its hope alive.
