Deputy science min: Scientific, technological cooperation with Venezuela to increase

Tehran, IRNA – Deputy science minister for international affairs said in a meeting with visiting Venezuelan vice president for scientific, technological, educational, and health affairs that bilateral cooperation in scientific, research and technological fields need to be increased.

The Deputy Science Minister Vahid Haddadi-Asl who was speaking with Venezuelan Vice President Gabriela Jimenez on the sidelines of the 9th Join Economic Cooperation Commission of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, emphasized that the two countries' comprehensive cooperation need to be boosted.

In the meeting in the presence of the two countries' officials, including the Venezuelan transportations minister, who is his country's head of the joint commission, Venezuelan vice president for scientific, technological, educational, and health affairs, deputy Iran foreign minister for economic affairs, it was agreed that the next round of the meeting will be held in Caracas.

The Venezuelan vice present, too, in the meeting referred to her talks and exchange of viewpoints with the Iranian Science, Research and Technology Minister Mohammad Zolfi-Gol last summer in a videoconference, when she was her country's science minister and once again appreciated the Iranian science minister for hosting the Venezuelan delegation.

She also expressed hope that in his meeting with the Iranian science minister, scheduled for the upcoming Tuesday the agreements for evermore expansion of bilateral cooperation will be reached.
