Bavar-373 missile defense capable of encountering ballistic missiles: Minister

Tehran, IRNA – Iran's Defense Minister and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani said that Bavar-373 missile defense has the capability of encountering ballistic missiles.

Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani on Sunday at the unveiling ceremony of extended homegrown missile defense system, Bavar 373 and the Sayyad-4 guided missile production line said that Iran's Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics has the mission of providing the armed forces with weapons and equipment to encounter threats to the country.

This missile defense can deal with stationary aerial targets, ballistic missiles and all kinds of fighter and bomber planes, he added.

Referring to Bavar-373 missile defense capabilities, Brigadier General Gharaei Ashtiani added that the defense system can destroy 6 targets, and many countries with technology in the world are keen on having such a system.

Iran's Defense Minister and Armed Forces Logistics said in his remarks that this system will definitely play a significant role in improving the combat capability of Iran's armed forces.

New edition of Iran’s homegrown missile defense system, Bavar-373 which is being increased to 300 kilometers, was unveiled on Sunday with the presence of Iran's Defence Minister and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani.

The extended homegrown missile defense system, Bavar 373 was unveiled and the Sayyad-4 guided missile production line was inaugurated on Sunday in a ceremony attended by Iran's Defense Minister and Armed Forces Logistics, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Gharaei Ashtiani.

Iranian engineers have increased the range of the Bavar-373 long-range road-mobile surface-to-air missile system to 300 km.
