-- Iran may receive petrodollars: CBI

Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Governor Ali Salehabadi signaled that billions of dollars in Iranian funds blocked in other countries because of US sanctions could be unfrozen in the near future.
“After the funds are deposited into accounts we have designated, we will disclose information about that. Talks are progressing well,” Salehabadi was quoted as saying by IRNA on Thursday.
The remarks came hours after the Iranian chief banker met Central Bank of Oman’s Executive President Tahir Bin Salim bin Abdullah al Amri in Tehran.

-- Qatar ready to establish intelligent port in Bushehr: Vice president

Qatari investors are ready to establish a joint intelligent port in Bushehr and, accordingly, Emir of Qatar had ordered that Qatar’s Al Ruwais Port will turn into Iran-link bazaar, announced the Iranian vice president for economic affairs.
“For instance, the Qatari officials are ready to construct large storages in their Al Ruwais Port so that the exported goods from Iran’s Bushehr Port will be stored there and then distributed in the countries in the Persian Gulf region,” added Mohsen Rezaei, IRNA reported.
He further reiterated that the Qatari officials are also ready to cooperate with Iran in animal husbandry field and accordingly, they are also set to establish industrial animal husbandry companies in
Bushehr.

-- Fahraj, an old settlement in Yazd

If you plan to travel to Yazd, the capital city of the central province of Yazd, do not forget to visit the first mosque of Iran, one of the oldest mosques in the world, located in Fahraj village.
According to some historians and archaeologists, the 5,000-year-old village is among the first human settlements in Iran. Fahraj village is located 32 kilometers from Yazd on Yazd-Bafq Road. There are several other villages along the road.
Akramiyeh village is located at the beginning of the road. Until about 80 years ago, the village was a big sand field in which no human lived. In the mid-1950s a person named Akrami dug a well and turned the region into a village. The well is still famous in Yazd and provides a part of the city’s water needs. In the past, qanats supplied a major part of the water requirements of people living in Yazd, but now Yazd is thriving thanks to the water extracted from numerous wells.

-- Iranians Punch Enemy in the Mouth

 Millions of Iranians from all walks of life took to the streets across the country on Friday to mark the anniversary of the U.S. embassy takeover, which is named as the National Day against the Global Arrogance.
The rallies were held in more than 900 cities, including in the capital Tehran where demonstrators gathered outside the former U.S. embassy.
The demonstrators chanted slogans as they carried placards against the U.S. and the occupying regime of Israel, strongly condemning the West’s hostile policies of against Iran. Some 3,500 Iranian and foreign reporters covered the protest rallies.

-- Iran Defeat Japan at 2022 Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup

 Iran defeated Japan 4-3 to advance to the semifinals round of the 2022 Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup as the group winner. Mehdi Shirmuhammadi, Muhammad Movahedpour and Hamid Behzadpour scored in regular time and Amirhussein Akbari scored the winner in the extra time.
The national Iranian beach soccer team had previously defeated Paraguay and the U.S. in Group B.

-- Iran Blasts U.S. ‘Dictatorship’ at UN Security Council

Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday slammed the U.S. dual standards at an unofficial UN Security Council meeting on the Islamic Republic, noting that Washington misuses international mechanisms to serve its own interests.
In a statement, the ministry said the informal meeting held at the request of the United States and Albania to look into the recent riots in Iran “is a clear example of the abuse of international mechanisms by the American government for its illegal purposes and meddling in internal affairs of other states.”

-- Iran’s Oscar submission “World War III” wins jury prize at Tokyo festival

The Iranian dark comedy “World War III” has won the special jury prize at the 35th Tokyo International Film Festival. The film is about Shakib, a homeless day laborer who never got over the loss of his wife and son in an earthquake years ago.

Over the last couple of years, he has developed a relationship with a deaf and mute woman, Ladan. The construction site on which he works today turns out to be the set for a film about the atrocities committed by Hitler during WWII. Against all odds, he is given a movie role, a house and a chance at being somebody. When Ladan learns about this, she comes to his workplace begging for help. Shakib’s scheme to hide her goes tragically wrong and threatens to ruin his newfound status and what seemed to be the opportunity of a lifetime.

-- Iran, Oman stress expansion of banking ties

Governors of the central banks of Iran and Oman have stressed the expansion of banking ties in a meeting hosted by the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) in Tehran, IRNA reported. As reported, CBI Governor Ali Saleh-Abadi met with his Omani counterpart Taher bin Salem al Omari on Thursday to discuss banking and monetary relations between the two countries.

Al Omari arrived in the capital Tehran on Wednesday afternoon to hold talks on the development of banking ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran.

-- Lighting project completed on ancient valley in Siraf

 A lighting project on the ancient valley of Lir in Siraf, Busher province, has come to an end, the deputy provincial tourism chief has said. A light tower was installed on the access road to the ancient valley of Lir as part of the project, CHTN quoted Nasrollah Ebrahimi as saying on Friday.

Such projects aim at developing tourism in the region, the official added.
