--  Russia-Iran trade up 36%: Novak

Russia and Iran are rapidly increasing trade; over the first eight months of 2022, it grew by 36.4% to $3.3 billion, and is approaching $4 billion, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak said, opening a meeting of the intergovernmental commission of the two countries in Grozny on Tuesday.
He added that the trade turnover of $4 billion would not be the limit, Interfax reported.

-- Minister underlines creating new transit corridor from Armenia to Persian Gulf

Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development stressed the full readiness of Iranian companies for developing transportation between Iran and Armenia, and creating a new transit corridor between Armenia and the Persian Gulf through Nurdouz village in East Azarbaijan.
Rostam Qassemi made the remarks in a meeting with Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan.

-- Kamal-ol-Molk’s tomb, famous tourist destination in Neyshabur

Neyshabur is a city in Khorasan Razavi Province. There are different attractions that have made this city well-known. The city is known as the oldest area of Great Khorasan, which is still inhabited.
Mohammad Ghaffari, better known as Kamal-ol-Molk, was born in 1847 in Kashan, to a family greatly attached to art. He was undoubtedly one of the most eminent artists of Iran. From his early years, Mohammad developed an interest in calligraphy and painting. As a child, he drew charcoal sketches on the walls of his room.

-- Iranians Rally to Protest German Role in Riots

Ordinary Iranians and war veterans gathered in front of the German embassy here Tuesday in protest at the government of Germany’s role in the recent riots in Iran.
The protestors carried placards and chanted slogans against the German government for its dark record in supporting former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein and its recent interference in the internal affairs of Iran.
“A number of my comrades and friends became handicapped and some were martyred in the war because of the enemy’s chemical attacks. Documents that have been released reveal that Germany had provided Saddam with raw materials for chemical bombs,” one protesters, who still suffers from physical injuries sustained during the Iraqi-imposed war of 1980-190 on Iran, said.

-- Iran’s Vital Role to End Tension in the Caucasus

Iran’s role as the prime regional and international troubleshooter has once again frustrated the devilish designs of troublemakers in the southern Caucasus and in the recent scattered incidents of riots in few places in the Islamic Republic, with a short visit to Tehran of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan of Armenia and his key talks with President Hojjat al-Islam Seyyed Ibrahim Raisis, immediately after attending a trilateral summit in the Black Sea resort of Sochi with the presidents of Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

-- Iran Sanctions U.S. Individuals, Entities for Human Rights Violations

Iran’s Foreign Ministry announces sanctions on a host of American individuals and entities for committing human rights violations, supporting terrorism and inciting violence against the Iranian nation during the recent riots.
In a statement, the ministry said the sanctions were imposed in line with a law titled “Countering America’s Human Rights Violation and Adventurous and Terrorist Actions” passed by the Iranian Parliament in 2017.

-- Iran start 2022 Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup on high

Iran started the 2022 Intercontinental Beach Soccer Cup on Tuesday on high note, beating Paraguay 5-2. Mohammad Mokhtari, Ali Mrshekari (two goals), Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, Mehdi Shirmohammadi were on target for Team Melli.

Iran will play the U.S. and Japan in Group B in the following days.

-- Iran, Russia ink 4 cooperation documents

 Iran and Russia have signed four documents for cooperation in a variety of areas at the end of the two countries’ 16th Joint Economic Committee meeting in Russia on Tuesday, Shana reported.

The strategic document for the development of bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Russian Federation was signed by Iranian Oil Minister Javad Oji and Russia’s Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, who co-chaired the meeting.

-- Abanegan: forgotten festival commemorating water as a source of life

Perhaps today we do not hold water as sacred as we should for this source of life. Maybe pollution and overconsumption of water have become part of our daily habits. Moreover, we may not notice the water shortage crisis as much as we should, but once upon a time in ancient Iran, this element of life was very sacred and the people of that time believed that they should never pollute the water and this too was considered a crime.

Jashan-e Abanegan is an ancient Iranian festival held to commemorate water as nature’s most precious treasure, and pay tribute to Anahita, a deity assigned to water, fertility, and prosperity.
