Iran, Bulgaria favor broader relations on 125th anniversary of bilateral ties

Tehran, IRNA – Ministers of foreign affairs of Iran and Bulgaria commemorated the 125th year of establishment of Iran-Bulgaria diplomatic relations, and considered it a great opportunity for expansion of comprehensive relations.

Hossein Amirabdollahian in a phone talk with his Bulgarian counterpart Nikolay Milkov exchanged views about bilateral relations, as well as some regional and international developments of the day.

The two sides were agreed that the two countries relations are good, and yet the 125th anniversary of Iran-Bulgaria diplomatic ties is a great opportunity for further comprehensive expansion.

The two countries' foreign ministers, meanwhile, referred to the various economic cooperation, expressing readiness for joint efforts to hold the 25th Iran-Bulgaria Joint Economic Cooperation Commission in near future.

Bulgaria also accepted to play a justice-based and frank role in the IAEA regarding Iran's nuclear case there.

Foreign Minster Nikolay Milkov in the meeting welcomed some of the ideas presented for return of every side to the JCPOA, expressing hope for its fast revival.
