Tehran, IRNA – Spokesman for the Iranian government said that the government agreed with lawful demonstrations and the interior minister was instructed by the president to formulate proposals on how to organize demonstrations.

Bahadori Jahromi said that the Iranian government was seeking to hold the belligerent media accountable for their malign activities.

He also said that the Supreme National Security Council was responsible for the monitoring of the internet and made decisions to lower the speed of the internet or block specific websites and social media.

The spokesman slammed double standards practiced by European countries in supporting the unrests in Iran in the name of defending women’s rights, while someone attack Iran’s female ambassador in the heart of Europe.

He highlighted the medicine used by Mahsa Amini, the 22-year-old woman whose death in Iranian police custody sparked recent unrests, saying that the medicine was difficult to import because of US sanctions.
