-- The bitter irony of U.S. support of Iranian people
The U.S. double-standard behavior toward the Iranian people has reached a new stage under the pretext of the recent protests in Iran.
The U.S. government is claiming to be supporting the Iranian people while it has kept the previous sanctions against the country in place and recently imposed new ones under different pretexts.
The bitter irony featured by the whole scenario is that former U.S. president Donald Trump, who was behind the imposition of the most draconian sanctions against the Iranian people, has recently claimed that he is also standing by them.
-- Iran to auction 5,000 small, medium mines
Iran plans to auction thousands of small and medium-sized mines as part of its efforts to create more jobs and spur more activity in its booming metals and mining sector.
Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin said that the Iranian government will hold 5,000 auctions within the next three months to sell the mines to private investors.
-- Iranian, Bangladeshi officials explore ways to boost bilateral ties
Deputy Iranian Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari held a meeting with Deputy Finance Minister of Bangladesh Abu Hena Rahmatul Muneem in Tehran.
During their meeting, Safari and the Bangladeshi official discussed ways to expand cooperation between private sectors of the two countries in different areas, including agriculture and petrochemicals production, IRNA reported.
Abu Hena Rahmatul Muneem, who also chairs Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue, heads a high-ranking delegation to hold talks with Iranian officials.

-- ‘Iraqi Kurdistan Will Deal With Anti-Iran Groups’
Nazim Dabbagh, the representative of Iraqi Kurdistan in Iran, said on Sunday that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) will take serious decision against anti-Iran groups based in the region.
He told IRNA that it is not acceptable for the KRG to seeKurdish groups create security problems for Iran, adding if they resort to armed activities, they will face harsh measures. His comments came after the strongholds of the terrorist groups in Iraqi Kurdistan region came under Iran’s drone and artillery attacks.
-- Iran Runners-Up at 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup
Iran lost to Japan 3-2 in the final match of the 2022 AFC Futsal Asian Cup Kuwait on Saturday. In the match, held at the Saad Al Abdullah Hall in Kuwait, Saied Ahmad Abbasi scored for Iran in the final moments of the first half but Kazuya Shimizu equalized the match with a brilliant right-footed shot.
Japan captain Arthur Oliveira made it 2-1 from a set-piece in the second half and Iran made so many chances but Japan goalkeeper Guilherme Kuromoto denied all efforts.
-- Iran Moves to Promote Transit Cooperation With Central Asia
At the conclusion of a ministerial meeting in Tehran, Iran and seven other countries agreed on plans to broaden cooperation in the transit industry across Central Asia. The ministers attending the two-day event in Tehran signed the final communiqué of the meeting on Sunday.
It entails transit cooperation among Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Russia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.

-- IRGC Navy to get two new vessels
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy will be delivered two new warships capable of carrying helicopters, a senior commander announced late on Saturday. Speaking at a televised interview, IRGC Navy chief Rear Admiral Ali Reza Tangsiri said the two warships, named after IRGC Navy martyrs Mahdavi and Baqeri, are 240 meters long and 21 meters in height, Tasnim reported.
Tangsiri said both warships are also able to carry missiles and tens of drones, while the Baqeri warship is also equipped with a runway for unmanned aircraft.
-- Narges Abyar to make film adaptation of “Savushun”
Narges Abyar plans to make a screen adaptation of the bestselling novel “Savushun” by Iranian writer Simin Daneshvar. Director of acclaimed movies such as “Track 143”, “Breath” and “When the Moon Was Full”, Abyar has previously made a series based on the novel for release on Iranian VOD platforms. She has also written the screenplay.
The novel was published in 1969 and its English translation “Savushun: A Novel about Modern Iran” by M. Ghanoonparvar came out in Washington, D.C. in 1990. Another English rendition by R. Zand as “A Persian Requiem” was also published in New York in 1991.
-- WB sees Iranian economy to grow by 2.9% in 2022
World Bank, in its latest economic report on the MENA region, dubbed “A New State of Mind: Greater Transparency and Accountability in the Middle East and North Africa”, sees the Iranian economy growing by 2.9 percent in 2022. “Iran’s GDP is forecast to grow 2.9 percent in 2022. In 2023, the average growth for developing oil exporter is expected to fall back to 2.7 percent,” the bank said in the report.
The bank expects the Islamic Republic’s Account Balance to improve in 2022 reaching 3.8 percent of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The figure stood at 3.5 percent last year.
