On Wednesday, Mokhber made the remarks prior to his departure from Tehran to take part in the second Caspian Economic Forum in the Russian capital Moscow.
The first vice president, heading a high-ranking economic and political delegation, is going to deliver a speech in the Caspian Economic Forum and meet with some officials on the sidelines of the event. Iranian ministers of economy, oil and agriculture jihad, as well as some deputy ministers accompany the representative of the Iranian president in this trip.
The official addressed reporters at airport as saying that the two-day visit will be held at the invitation of Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
Mokhber argued that the forum is very important in terms of legal, economic and environmental aspects.
The littoral states of the Caspian Sea are determined to expand cooperation in investment, transit and economic exchanges, he said, expressing hope that the event can pave the ground for reaching serious agreements.
One of the plans of the trip is following up consensus made by heads of states of the littoral countries; so, the visit can pave the way for holding bilateral talks with prime ministers of other member states in order to remove obstacles in the way of speeding up the implementation of agreements and memoranda of understanding among these countries.
As to the friendly relationship between Russia and Iran, he noted that the ties between Moscow and Tehran have experienced good jump especially following the inauguration of the administration of President Ebrahim Raisi, who underscores the importance of expansion of relationships with neighboring and regional states; so, the trade, investment and industrial cooperation witnessed great growth in the past year.
Moreover, the opportunity of full membership of Iran in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) is an extraordinary opportunity, which should be utilized for developing ties with neighboring and regional states appropriately, he stated.
The first Caspian Economic Forum was held in the presence of representatives from Russia, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Iran in Avaza, Turkmenistan, on August 12, 2019.
President Raisi took part in the Sixth Caspian Sea Summit in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan, on June 29.
