Iran parliament holds closed session to review recent unrest across country

Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi is attending the Majlis session which is chaired by Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

Vahidi is due to give a report about the events that occurred across the country in recent weeks.

Also, the Police Chief Brigadier General Hossein Ashtari is in Majlis to present a related report.

According to Article 69 of the Islamic Republic Constitution, the deliberations of the Majlis have to be open and a full report of them must be released through radio or newspapers to let the people be informed of. However, in the emergency conditions, the Majlis sessions will be held behind closed doors at the request of the president or one of the ministers or ten lawmakers.

People have to be informed of reports on the closed sessions when the emergency is handled.
