-- Iran among successful states in curbing COVID pandemic: Minister

Iran is among the successful countries in terms of curbing the COVID-19 pandemic, said the health minister, stressing that the ministry accurately and completely supervises, through the Food and Drug Administration, the quality of the imported COVID vaccines.

Making the remarks in an address to an open session of the Iranian Parliament on Tuesday, Bahram Einollahi added in his meeting as the health minister with Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader told him that the country’s top priorities are people’s health and fighting the coronavirus.

-- Iran seeks to achieve lasting, unambiguous agreement

Following the indirect exchange of responses between Iran and the United States regarding the European Union’s proposed draft of a potential Vienna agreement over the past days, the resolution of the safeguards issues appears to be the two sides’ main source of the difference.

To be more specific, the main unresolved difference between Tehran and Washington pertains to the PMD (possible military dimensions) case or the International Atomic Energy Agency’s claims of detecting traces of nuclear particles in some Iranian nuclear sites.

-- Head: ISA to launch suborbital human-rated capsule by March ‎

The Iranian Space Agency plans to launch a suborbital human-rated capsule by March ‎‎2023 as part of a project to send a ‎human into space within 10 years, said the ISA head on Saturday.

Hassan Salarieh added the agency’s next plan will be sending a spacelab into space. He noted that the sending of an astronaut into space is part of ISA’s research activities in the area of space biology.

-- Iranian Women Win 3 Gold Medals in Czech Republic Rowing Race

 The Iranian women’s dragon boat team has won its third gold medal in the 200m dragon boat world championship in Czech Republic. The Dragon Boat World Championship continued in the Czech Republic.
On Sunday competitions, the young Iranian women’s team won the gold medal in the 200-meter race with a time of 1:04.410 minutes. This is the third medal of young Iranian women in this competition.
Iranian female rowers have won three gold and one bronze in these competitions so far.

-- Iran-Turkey Trade Exchanges Top $3.8bn in 4 Months

Director General of the West Asia export department at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Farzad Piltan has said that the value of trade exchanges between Iran and Turkey in the first four months of the current Iranian year surpassed $3.8 billion.
The value of trade between the two neighbors from March 21 until July 22 has increased by 140 percent compared to the corresponding period last year, the director general of the West Asia export department at the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran said.
Piltan added that the value of Iranian exports to Turkey in the four-month period has reached $2 billion, while Iran has imported $1.8 billion worth of commodities from its northwestern neighbor.

-- Ministry Urges European Governments to Free Iranian Prisoners 

Iran’s foreign ministry has chastised European governments for continued imprisonment of Iranian citizens on baseless allegations, calling for their immediate release. Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani said the detention of Iranian national Hamid Nouri and his trial in Western is illegal and based on unfounded accusations.

Tehran, he said, is seriously demanding Nouri’s release and pursuing the case both at legal and political levels.

--TPO holds workshop to explore ways of expanding trade with Africa

Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO) held a workshop on the expansion of economic cooperation between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Africa, on Saturday, during which the attendees explored ways of expanding economic cooperation between Iran and East African countries especially Uganda, Tanzania, and Kenya.

The event was attended by senior officials from Iran and the mentioned African countries, including Director-General of TPO’s Africa Office Mohammad-Sadeq Qanadzadeh, Uganda’s Ambassador to Iran Muhammad Tezikuba Kisambira, Kenya’s Ambassador to Tehran Joshua Gatimu, and Iran’s Ambassador to Nairobi Jafar Barmaki.

-- 8 field hospitals, 2,000 medical teams to serve Arbaeen pilgrims

Health Minister Bahram Einollahi said on Sunday that eight field hospitals have been established and 2,000 health teams have been dispatched to provide healthcare services to Arbaeen pilgrims at the borders.

Seven emergency helicopters, 200 ambulances, 35 ambulance buses, and 20 motor lances have been deployed in different parts of the borders for health care and treatment of the pilgrims, he noted. Three fixed-wing airplanes are located in Jiroft and Tehran airports to transport possible Arbaeen patients, which have a capacity of 50 to 100 beds, he also stated.

-- Iranian village, passers-by relish free rosewater in Muharram remembrance

One of the main Muharram rituals in the small village of Cham Alishah, the central province of Isfahan, is the nazr of rosewater, which means to vow or commitment to carry out an act to fulfill wishes during a rosewater distillation ceremony.

The ritual is held on the seventh day of the lunar month of Muharram, when villagers gather in the houses where rosewater is collected from dried rose flowers, and they participate in the rosewater distillation ceremony, commonly known as “Golab-giri.”
