A dam to be constructed in northwest Iran to provide drinking water there

Ardebil, IRNA – A senior provincial official in this northwestern Iranian province announced Monday that a dam with 3,500-billion-rial investment is to be launched here.

The dam named Shahid Posti is planned to be constructed in south of Khalkhal County in northwest Iran, Managing Director of Regional Water Company of Ardebil, Ali Heydari, told IRNA.

The useful volume of the dam is estimated 2.2 million cubic meters to provide the nearby villages with drinking water, Heydari noted.

The official went on to say that Regional Water Company of Ardebil pays serious attention to complete the unfinished projects.

So far, ten big and 42 small storage dams have been constructed in Ardebil Province.
