Iran will respond to US after expert summing up

Tehran, IRNA - Spokesman of Iran's Foreign Ministry Nasser Kanaani said here on Sunday that Iran will give the US response at the earliest time after summing up expert meetings.

After touring the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) on Sunday, Kanaani made the remarks while speaking to reporters when asked to comment about the time of Iran's response to the US.

Kanaani said that the issue of responding to the US is being investigated in specialized and expert meetings and there is not a specific time to say when Iran will respond, but at the earliest time after summing ups, the response will be released.

He added that the significant point is that the Islamic Republic of Iran is serious about discussing the negotiation process and reaching an agreement is not only sustainable and comprehensive but also meets the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Referring to the US policies against Iran and the sanctions withdrawal meetings in Vienna, The spokesman called negotiations processes so critical and said that Iran considers the negotiation process a positive and forward-looking process, adding that most of the issues related to the JCPOA agreement between the parties have been resolved, but the few remaining issues are sensitive, important and decisive ones.

The Islamic Republic of Iran believes that the implementation of the agreement should be formed and carried out bilaterally and that all members of the agreement must abide by their obligations, Kanaani underscored.

Pointing to the current Iranian negotiating team in Vienna, he underlined that they have entered into negotiations vigorously and acted creatively while also sticking to the red lines of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Terming negotiation as a two-way path, Kanaani highlighted that one negotiation would be lasting if the members and parties to the agreement are fulfilling their responsibilities and obligations.

He reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is looking for a good and lasting agreement.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Kanaani said that extradition of prisoners with other countries is one of the main agendas of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The spokesman noted that it is an inherited duty of the Foreign Ministry to provide consular and judicial protection for the Iranian nationals being imprisoned in other countries.

The Foreign Ministry feels duty-bound to provide consular support for the Iranian prisoners abroad regardless of the allegations they are facing, Kanaani noted.
