The Iranian foreign minister in the meeting presented a report on successful holding of the Comprehensive Joint Commission of the two countries, announcing the Islamic Republic of Iran’s readiness for vast expansion of cooperation in economic, defense, scientific, and technological fields with Mali.
Amirabdollahian appreciated the efforts made by the Malian government in campaign against the terrorist trends and reviewed the Islamic Republic of Iran’s encounters with the terrorists in Iraq and Syria, and defeating the ISIS in the region in collaboration with the Iraqi and Syrian governments.
The head of the interim Malian government, Assimi Goita, too, appreciated the Iranian foreign minister for the successful holding of the Joint Cooperation Commission, and asked for broadening comprehensive cooperation with Iran.
He said that the Islamic Republic of Iran has an important status in regional and international political equations and the result of the Iranian people and leadership’s resistance against the unjustly imposed maximum sanction, and the people of Mali, too, take model from the campaign of the Iranian nation against the totalitarian demands of the foreigners.
Hossein Amirabdollahian arrived in Bamako International Airport on Tuesday morning and was officially received by his Malian counterpart Abdoulaye Diop.
Foreign Minister Diop has visited Tehran in February 2021.
