Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture of Semnan Province Ali-Asghar Jomei addressed reporters on Tuesday, noting that the conference is going to be held with the aim of making producers and tradesmen familiar with the economic capacities of Oman.
Given the level of economic and trade exchanges between Oman and Iran, the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture of Semnan Province is scheduled to organize the conference on investment opportunities in the Persian Gulf littoral state on August 29, the official noted.
Moreover, the trade board of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture of Semnan Province will be dispatched to Oman in September, he added.
Economic actors are being provided with the opportunity to take part in the conference in order to be informed of state-of-the-art trade information, Jomei said.
The chairman went on to say that friendly ties and good neighborly interactions between Oman and Iran have created remarkable capacities to expand economic and trade exchanges more than ever.
Oman is the sixth country in terms of being Iran’s export destination, he said, adding that the Arab state stands also second among the Persian Gulf littoral states in this regard.
In May, Iranian minister of industry, mine, and trade Reza Fatemi-Amin and Omani Minister of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousef signed a memorandum of understating.
At the same period, an Iranian delegation of 50 tradesmen and economic operators traveled to Oman in order to pave the ground for development of economic and trade ties between the two friendly countries.
Furthermore, an agreement on preserving and strengthening of sea transportations between Iran’s Chabahar Port and Oman’ Al-Suwaiq Port was reached, and the Islamic Republic of Iran Shipping Lines (IRISL) was allowed to work with Al-Slaha and Al-Sahar ports.
