In an announcement, the agency said that the satellite will be launched by a Soyuz rocket from Kazakhstan spaceport, the Baikonur Cosmodrome.
According to the announcement, the Khayyam satellite is owned by the Iranian Space Agency and is aimed at improving agricultural productivity, monitoring water resources and management of natural disasters, among other things.
The agency said that it will continue efforts to develop domestic capabilities in manufacturing and launching satellites, while trying to meet domestic needs for satellite data through cooperation with the leading countries in the space industry.
Earlier on Wednesday, Russian Space Agency, Roscosmos, announced that it will launch Iran's Khayyam satellite into space on August 9, 2022.
“Khayyam” is a sensing type with high imaging accuracy and is capable of shooting from the earth's surface in different visual spectrums with a resolution of one meter.
