The repatriation of the smuggled painting displaying the portrait of Mozaffar ad-Din Shah Qajar is on the agenda of the Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts, said Morteza Adibzadeh, the director-general of Museums and Historical-Cultural Properties.
On Saturday, after examination of the documents and properties registered in Golestan Palace in Tehran, Adibzadeh confirmed that the painting did exist and had been smuggled out of Golestan Palace and later sold abroad between 1938 and 1982, iribnews.ir reported.

Two Palestinians were killed overnight during an Israeli military raid in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus, the Palestinian Health Ministry said Sunday.

-- Mossad’s Terrorist Operation Thwarted
Iran said its security forces had arrested a network of agents working for the occupying regime of Israel before they were able to carry out sabotage and “terrorist operations”.
“This network’s members were in contact with Mossad spy agency through a neighboring country and entered Iran from (Iraq’s) Kurdistan region with advanced equipment and strong explosives,” the ministry said in a statement.
-- Over 110 Palestinians Begin Hunger Strike in Israeli Jails
Some 40 Palestinian prisoners began a hunger strike in Israeli prisons in solidarity with two compatriots whose health deteriorated as a result of the hunger strike they are carrying out themselves in demand of their release, local media reported.
According to the Al Quds news agency, a group of Islamic Jihad members started the protest Saturday night, and another 75 from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) were expected to follow suit Sunday.
-- Top U.S. Officer: China Military Significantly Dangerous
The Chinese military has become significantly more aggressive and dangerous over the past five years, the top U.S. military officer said during a trip to the Indo-Pacific that included a stop Sunday in Indonesia.
Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said the number of intercepts by Chinese aircraft and ships in the Pacific region with U.S. and other partner forces has increased significantly over that time, and the number of unsafe interactions has risen by similar proportions.

-- Iran emerging as drone power
After years of assiduous efforts, Iran has now mastered the process of producing state-of-the-art drones, something that has added another element to Iran’s military prowess.
Iran’s drone capabilities are nothing new. Over the last decade, Iran, thanks to its native scientists, has succeeded in developing a full range of combat, reconnaissance, and surveillance drones. The latest major achievement in this regard was unveiled earlier this month when the Iranian Army’s navy inaugurated Iran’s first drone carrier which included a variety of modern and advanced types of drones all produced and manufactured by Iranian experts in the Army and the Ministry of Defense.

The Hashd al-Sha’abi in Iraq or Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) are holding conferences and ceremonies to honor their martyrs as well as military parades to mark the eighth anniversary of the military force’s founding. The largest military parade to date this year has been held in the province of Diyala with the presence of Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Khadhimi and PMU chairman Falih al-Fayadh as well as other high-ranking security officials.

Iran has maintained its place as the world’s 10th biggest steel producer during January-June 2022, according to the latest data released by the World Steel Association (WSA).
Production of crude steel in Iran reached 13.6 million tons during the mentioned six months, registering a 10.8 percent decline year on year, the report said.
