COVID-19 kills 34 more Iranians over past 24 hours

Tehran, IRNA – The number of deaths from the coronavirus pandemic in Iran increased to 141,684 with 34 more Iranians killed by the deadly disease over the past 24 hours, Iran's Health Ministry announced on Sunday.

Some 34 more Iranians have died from the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) over the past 24 hours bringing the total deaths to 141,684, Iran's Health Ministry said on Sunday.

8,831 new cases of infection with the COVID-19 were found over the past 24 hours, 1,210 of whom were hospitalized, it said.

The Iranian Health Ministry noted that 7,073,142 patients out of a total of 7,328,153 infected people have recovered or been discharged from hospitals.

907 COVID-19 patients are in critical conditions and in intensive care units, it added.

The Health Ministry also announced that the number of coronavirus PCR tests conducted throughout the country has reached 53,018,834 tests so far, adding that some 869,075 doses of vaccines have been injected in the past 24 hours.

Iranian health authorities have urged people to observe protocols, including wearing mask and washing their hands.
Iran’s Health Minister Bahram Einollahi advised people older than 12 years old to get the booster jabs.
