Pakistani minister admires Iranians' resistance against sanctions

Tehran, IRNA – Pakistan Minister of Human Rights Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada congratulated the Iranian government on its resistance and struggle in the face of decades-long propaganda and economic sanctions imposed by the West and the US.

According to the press release,  Iranian ambassador to Pakistan  Mohammad Ali Hosseini called on Pakistan's Minister of Human Rights in his office in Islamabad and both sides reiterated their resolve to enhance bilateral cooperation in the field of human rights.

Accordingly, the Pakistani minister welcomed the Iranian ambassador and highlighted the fraternal relations spanning more than seven decades between the two countries coming from cultural, religious, and historical commonalities.


Ambassador Hosseini extended his congratulations to the minister on assuming the role along with the successful accomplishmentsof  multifarious political assignments, saying that Iran was willing to enhance mutual cooperation in the field of Human Rights and particularly judicial cooperation.


He also said that the Iranian government is especially focused on women's rights and empowerment, adding that the two neighbors should have strong economic and business ties and maximum cooperation in the exchange of prisoners.

The Iranian Ambassador also invited the Pakistani Minister to visit Iran for the ceremony in August where a sideline meeting would also be arranged to improve bilateral collaboration in the area of human rights, mentioning two MoUs between the two governments on extradition/exchange of prisoners along with the protection and promotion of human rights. 
 

He appreciated the role of Pakistan on diplomatic fronts to successfully counter the menace of Islamophobia.

According to the press release by Pakistan's Ministry of Human Rights, Secretary of Human Rights Afzal Latif and other senior officers of the ministry were also present in this meeting.
