The MoU was signed by Head of Iran’s Environment Department Ali Salajegheh and Iraq’s Environment Minister Jasesim Al-Falahi during their meeting in Tehran on Thursday.
Salajegheh said that Iranian scientists have produced a few types of ecofriendly mulch materials which have produced good results both in laboratory and field experiments.
He said that the ecofriendly mulch materials have been developed because Iran used oil mulch to contain dust storms, which would damage environment.
Iran has been trying to gather the countries in the region to join forces to contain dust sources in the region, as many nations in the West Asia have struggling with dust storms.
