Amirabdollahian made the remark in talks with his Italian Counterpart Luigi Di Maio in Rome.
The top Iranian diplomat said that his country wants the JCPOA to work well and is seriously after a good and durable agreement to revive the JCPOA.
He added that Iran should be able to fully use the economic benefits of the JCPOA and the US needs to understand this reality as long as giving guarantees is concerned.
In this line, Amirabdollahian noted that Iran has brought new initiatives, but the US has failed to act in a right and logical way.
"The Americans should understand the issue in a realistic way," he added.
The Iranian foreign minister also said that the Islamic Republic is willing to have its natural share of the global energy market.
The Italian foreign minister, for his part, announced his country’s readiness to play a positive role in making all the JCPOA sides return to the deal.
The two foreign ministers also discussed Tehran-Rome ties, as well as international developments, including the Ukraine war and Turkey’s planned military action in Syria.
Amirabdollahian said that Iran is opposed to war in any part of the world and has always tried to invite the warring sides to the negotiating table.
The two sides referred to the history of friendly ties between Iran and Italy, and stressed the importance of further developing those relations given the numerous existing capacities to boost them.
They particularly put emphasis on the promotion of bilateral relations in economic fields, with Di Maio saying that Italian firms are interested in continuing their economic activities in Iran.
