Iran, Australia envoys meet, confer in Baghdad

Tehran, IRNA – The ambassadors of the Islamic Republic of Iran and Australia in Iraq, in a meeting at Iran's Embassy in Baghdad, discussed developing cooperation and reviewed the developments and the political situation in the region, as well as in Iraq.

 Iranian Ambassador to Baghdad Mohammad Kazem Al-e Sadeq, today met with Australian Ambassador to Iraq Paula Ganly at Iran's Embassy in Baghdad.

In this meeting, the latest political developments in Iraq and the current situation of Australia's presence in this country were discussed.

Emphasizing Iran's conditions on bilateral relations with Iraq, Al-e Sadeq stressed the important role of Baghdad in improving and strengthening the relations of the countries of the region and said that the Iraqi armed forces have the full ability to provide security and defense of their country.

The Australian ambassador to Iraq, for her part, informed about the efforts of Australian companies to have a stronger cooperation with Iraq.
