Member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Sara Fallahi told IRNA on Saturday that with the war between Russia and Ukraine and the need of the US and Europe for the Islamic Republic, a change of attitude towards the nuclear talks happened and parties involved in the negotiations decided to change the venue of the talks from Vienna to Doha in order to soften up the atmosphere of mistrust among negotiators, so the talks for the removal of anti-Iran sanctions and revival of the nuclear agreement was scheduled to be held in the vicinity of Iran’s borders.
The head of the nuclear committee of the Iranian parliament underlined that the Islamic Republic has continued to abide by its commitments under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), which was achieved in 2015, but the US withdrew from the deal and the European signatories have done nothing tangible to show their compliance to the accord; thus, they are not in a position to set conditions for the Islamic Republic.
Earlier the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Board of Governors issued a resolution against Iran with the aim of pushing the country to succumb to their demands, but all world nations have witnessed that the Islamic Republic resisted firmly and turned off ultra-Safeguards Agreement cameras monitoring enrichment levels; therefore, the move indicates Iranians’ powerful and steadfast reaction to the Board of Governors and other signatories to the JCPOA, Fallahi said.
As to the Trump administration’s withdrawal from the nuclear deal in 2018 and European’s inaction in complying with their commitments under the JCPOA, she said that Iran’s diplomacy apparatus will intelligently go ahead with the nuclear negotiations.
The member of the Iranian parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission went on to say that the United States and the Zionist regime are sources of tensions in West Asia, noting that the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has always helped enhance security and stability in Iran and throughout the region.
The United States imposed illegal, cruel sanctions against the Iranian people and the IRGC from several years ago and assassinated the late Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani during US President Donald Trump’s tenure.
The Biden administration, despite his initial comments, has kept up the very failed policy of so-called maximum pressure.
