Venezuelan president urges launching joint technology park with Iran

Tehran, IRNA – President of Venezuela Nicolás Maduro urged his economic cabinet to launch an industrial-technology park with the cooperation of Iran in developing health, food, and education.

According to Spanish media, Maduro said that the park would move toward developing food, health, and educational fields.

He referred to his visit to an industrial town in Iran, saying that his country signed a contract with Iran for buying 1,000 hospital beds for dialysis patients.

He stressed that the Iranian government is committed to transferring all its knowledge for developing this field.

President Maduro, heading a high-ranking delegation, arrived in Tehran on June 10 in order to sign a 20-year cooperation document with Iran on political, cultural, tourism, economic, oil, and petrochemical fields.

Earlier, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi underscored that the delivery of an Iranian-made 113k-ton oil tanker to Venezuela indicates the fact that the resistance economy is efficient.

Caracas and Tehran are two economies that support each other in procuring supply chains in both countries with the aim of guaranteeing welfare and development for their own nations, Raisi noted, adding that such joint ventures are good examples for all developing and independent countries to see that cooperation and interaction can pave the way to implement important projects.

He also expressed hope that Iran is manufacturing two oil tankers to be delivered to Venezuela in the future.
