Iranian VP, Iraqi PM review ways to battle with regional dust storms

Baghdad, IRNA – Iranian Vice-President Ali Salajegheh and Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, in a meeting in Baghdad on Sunday, explored ways to efficiently address the issue of dust storms bothering the regional countries.

Speaking during the meeting, Salajegheh who is also the head of the Department of Environment, underlined the urgency of responding to the issues of drought and dust storms.

He called for further cooperation between Iran and Iraq and other regional countries so as to be able to deal with the environmental challenges in a way that will fairly benefit the interests of all the involved counties.  

Salajegheh stressed that all the regional countries are expected to do their contribution to the fight against the environmental issues.The Iraqi prime minister, for his part, said that finding efficient solutions to environmental issues and stoppage of the negative impacts of the climate change have now turned into a shared duty of all.
